Blackwell 1: Legacy App Reviews

I cant compare this to the slick new adventure games out for iPad now, but it was fun when I first played it and is fun again. I love games with voice actors.....and I love the banter and sarcasm of Rose and Joey.

Happy to support games that help bring new people into the genera and love them as much as I do!

Its too bad more games on iOS arent like the Blackwell series. It truly stands out from the crowd. I have supported Wadjet Eye on iOS from day one. Im sure you will as well if you give their games a try.

The Blackwell series is probably the best adventure gaming weve seen since the death of Lucasarts. This is clearly the weakest of the five games but its still worth playing for the introduction of the main characters. Its a rare thing in videogames to see characters with a multigame arc but Wadjet Eye handles it perfectly. Please note that this is one of the few games that includes developer commentary. Wadjet Eye includes this in most of their games and its always worth a listen.

I wanted to buy the blackwell series on the pc for a while now after playing gemini rue (which is a absolute gem) and now they finally have it on ios! AWESOME GAME, i bought immediatly the other two parts!!!

Another great game by Wadjet Eye Games! I thoroughly enjoyed Shiva and Gemini Rule so I did not hesitate when I saw this available on the App Store. The story is extremely compelling and the characters are so intriguing; it sucked me in from go! Its a little short but still a steal at $1.99, and its worth so much more! Id say its about the length of a TWD episode, actually probably longer. I got stuck for a bit, which I love! I hate adventure games that have no challenge. Ive already bought Blackwell 2 and will be purchasing 3 after I play it. Hopefully 4 and 5 will also be ported to iOS but who am I kidding, I know Ill be playing 4 and 5 on PC right after I finish 3! If you love 90s adventure games, I cant recommend this highly enough! I know it sounds like I work for the company but I promise I dont. I just really love adventure games.

...if that. Completed the game in less than 3 hours. There is no randomness, so once the game is over, its pointless to play again. Its a decent story line, and the price is ok at .99 for this single chapter. But the other two chapters are 2.99 each. If they are equally as short, and with zero replay-ability,then i would argue they are WAY over priced, and worth only the price of the first one.

This is not the full game. This is only the first chapter of many, all of which you have to purchase separately. They didnt even make it an in-app purchase, obviously to trick buyers into thinking they were getting the full thing. And on top of that, it locks up during the final scene of the chapter. It has good music, the writing isnt awful, the voice acting is okay although the recording quality is low (lots of lip smacking during some character dialog) and the plot is interesting. But I cant forgive shady packaging. Sorry wadjeteye. You lost me as a future customer.

Adore the novel concept of a spirit guide who helps our heroine solve mysteries and rescue the undead a la Sixth Sense. The retro graphics add to the atmosphere, and make sure to turn on the developers commentary to hear behind-the-scenes info on the art, music, voice acting, etc. I am a big fan of intelligent, old-school point and click games, and this more than satisfies. Ive completed Legacy and Unbound and am merrily on my way to downloading Convergence. WELL worth the cost of admission and then some.

Played many of the 8 bit point and click rpgs on iPhone and through the years on old pc and Mac- Full Throttle anyone? Very well written, thoughtfully produced and likable relatable characters make this game a joy to play through.

Finished all three games in series. Great storytelling.

One glitch after another and dont bother trying to deal with the publisher. They do not seem to care just ignoring emails.

Im honestly not sure why I waited so long to play this game, but I greatly enjoyed the luxury of playing it on a tablet. Great plot, characters, and voice acting as I can always expect from Wadjet games.

Loved the interactive story and unique concept. A few parts were a little hard, but for some reason I still enjoyed it very much. Great backstory development through reading letters and documents. To the developer, In your bonus commentaries no need to keep apologizing because youve done great. Own it. Just give us a lot of the behind the scenes learning that we love to hear. Kudos

I play it all the time, but it only took a day to beat so please make a second one or add more to this one

I have loved the game so far, however I have encountered a bug that keeps me from progressing. In Kellys dorm room, I have tried using the phone and inquiring about a distraction. Nothing happened and now when I try to use the phone again it just cycles between the beginning and end of the phone conversation, no options are presented. I would greatly appreciate some help or an update so I can get the notebook and move on.

Im a fan of old school point-and-click games and this series definitely reminds me of some of my favorites. I hope the 4th & 5th game will be available soon!!!
